Cole graduated from LSU and subsequently commissioned in the Army as an infantry officer. His most challenging and enjoyable position in the Army was spent in his role as a Mechanized Airborne OpFor Infantry Platoon Leader at Fort Polk, Louisiana in the 1/509th (Airborne). Cole enjoyed jumping out of airplanes in the Army so much that he spent his years after leaving the Army as a skydiving tandem instructor, accelerated free fall instructor, tandem videographer, and indoor vertical wind tunnel flight instructor. Cole is Series 7 and Series 66 licensed and is business partners with his father, Douglas Farr. Cole likes working on his car and making it go faster.
